SpendWise ("SpendWise", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal and financial information.
SpendWise is designed as an offline-first personal finance application. Your financial information is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
By using SpendWise, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Financial Information
SpendWise allows you to record and manage financial information, including:
Expenses and income
Transaction amounts
Categories
Budgets
Loan information
Loan return dates
Loan settlement status
Shared expenses and bill splits
Names or labels you choose to enter for people involved in loans or shared expenses

This information is stored locally on your device. SpendWise does not upload your financial records to our servers or provide them to us.
1.2 Account Information
SpendWise does not require you to create an account or provide personal registration information.
We do not require:

Home address
Social media account
Financial institution account credentials
to use the core functionality of SpendWise.
1.3 Information You Export
SpendWise provides functionality to export your financial records in formats such as CSV and PDF.
When you choose to export your data, the resulting file or text is controlled by you. You are responsible for where you save, store, transfer, or share exported data.
SpendWise does not automatically upload your exported files to our servers.
1.4 Purchase Information
SpendWise Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase.
Payments are processed through the applicable app store, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank account information, or other sensitive payment credentials.
The applicable app store may process information associated with your purchase in accordance with its own privacy policy and terms.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
SpendWise is designed to store your financial data locally on your device.
Your transaction records, budgets, loans, shared expenses, categories, and related information are intended to remain on your device unless you explicitly export or transfer them yourself.
SpendWise does not operate a cloud database containing your financial records.
If you delete the app, clear its application data, reset your device, or otherwise remove locally stored application data, your locally stored SpendWise information may be permanently deleted unless you have previously created your own backup.
3. No Account or Cloud Synchronization
SpendWise does not require an account and does not provide a cloud-based account system for storing your financial information.
Your data is not automatically synchronized to our servers.
If you move to another device, you can use the export/import functionality provided by SpendWise to transfer your information yourself.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your financial information with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Because SpendWise is designed to operate locally, we generally do not have access to the financial information you enter into the application.
We may only receive information where it is necessary to operate a service that you explicitly use, where required by the applicable app store, or where required by law.
5. Advertising
SpendWise Pro is designed to provide an ad-free experience.
We do not use your financial records to create advertising profiles or deliver personalized advertisements.
6. Notifications
SpendWise may use local device notifications for features such as:
Budget alerts
Loan return reminders
Recurring transaction reminders
Other reminders you configure within the application
These notifications are generated for the functionality of the app and do not require your financial information to be sent to our servers.
You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.
7. App Permissions
SpendWise may request access to certain device capabilities when required for a specific feature.
For example, access to device storage or document/file functionality may be required when you choose to export or import your financial data.
SpendWise only uses permissions for the functionality for which they are requested. You can manage available permissions through your device settings.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to design SpendWise so that your financial information remains private.
Because your financial records are stored locally, the security of your device is an important part of protecting your information.
We recommend that you:
Keep your device protected with a passcode, PIN, password, or biometric authentication.
Keep your operating system updated.
Avoid sharing exported financial files with untrusted people or services.
Store backups in a secure location.
Please note that no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Data You Choose to Export or Share
SpendWise may allow you to export your financial information as CSV or PDF files or provide backup information that you can copy and transfer.
Once you export or share this information outside SpendWise, it may be accessible to other applications, cloud storage providers, messaging services, email providers, or other recipients.
You are responsible for protecting any exported or shared information.

Because the application does not require account registration and is designed to store financial information locally, we do not intentionally collect children's personal information through our servers.

Because SpendWise stores your financial information locally, you have control over much of your information directly through the application and your device.
Depending on the features available in your version of SpendWise, you may:

Delete the application and its locally stored data
We do not have access to your locally stored financial records and therefore cannot retrieve or modify them on your behalf.

We do not maintain a server-side database of your SpendWise financial records.
Your financial information remains on your device for as long as you keep it there or until you delete it.
Information associated with purchases may be retained or processed by the relevant app store according to its policies and applicable legal requirements.
